At SO BAG, our commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility is at the heart of everything we do. Each year, we strive to go further in our ecological and social initiatives. Today, we are proud to present our Communication on Progress (COP) 2023, a detailed report of our actions and achievements.

What is the Communication on Progress (COP)?

The Communication on Progress (COP) is an essential document for companies committed to the United Nations Global Compact. It is an annual update on our efforts and progress in the areas of sustainable development, human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption. This report is proof of our transparency and our commitment to a more sustainable and ethical future.

Our environmental commitments

Reducing our Carbon Footprint:
In 2023, SO BAG took significant steps to reduce its carbon footprint. We succeeded in achieving a 100% renewable electricity supply thanks to our partnership with Gazel Energie. In addition, the installation of 484 solar panels enables us to cover around 30% of our annual energy consumption. These initiatives demonstrate our determination to minimise our environmental impact and promote clean energy. 

Social responsibility

Inclusivity and Diversity:
At SO BAG, we firmly believe that everyone deserves an equal chance. This year, we have strengthened our actions in terms of inclusion. In particular, we have integrated new talent such as Amirjan from Afghanistan into our team. His integration is a testament to our commitment to offering equal opportunities to everyone, regardless of their origin. 

Support for people with disabilities:
During the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities, we highlighted our commitment to supporting and integrating people with disabilities. Initiatives such as the sponsorship of Steve, a valued member of our team, demonstrate our dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment. 

Sustainable innovations

Modified Atmosphere Preservation:
SO BAG continues to innovate in response to current industry challenges. One of our biggest achievements this year is the implementation of modified atmosphere preservation. This technique extends the shelf life of products such as seeds and cereals, while preserving their quality. 

Eco-designed packaging:
We are also working on the development of 100% natural, eco-designed packaging. These new products aim to replace traditional polypropylene solutions with sustainable alternatives, reducing our dependence on plastics. 

Future objectives:

We have ambitious targets for the coming years, including reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and increasing the use of recycled or renewable materials in our products.
